  • summer~

wow i can't believe a whole year has gone by already. After all the packing and helping people pack, I realized how fast this year went by. It was so much fun, too. I already miss everyone even though it's only been a few days away from school. But at least I'll see Mai, Margaret, and Alex for quartet rehearsal. And Alex and the percussionists since they're always there. I never thought I'd ever say this, but I can't wait for school to start in September. =P

But for now I have summer school at elac. -.- accounting, econ, and sociology. Ah but I'm going to New York in a week! I'm so excited-I've never been there before =] so that should be exciting. I also need to find a job. =/ Hopefully I'll find something...I don't really want to work at SMA again, even though it was pretty good $$.

Well I should get back to unpacking(yes, I still have yet to unpack everything).

"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. Last night, I experienced something new, an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: Anyone can cook. But I realize that only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau's, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I will be returning to Gusteau's soon, hungry for more."

About Me

  • "I'd like to get away from Earth awhile And then come back to it and begin over. May no fate willfully misunderstand me And half grant what I wish and snatch me away Not to return. Earth's the right place for love: I don't know where it's likely to go better." -Robert Frost, "Birches"
